Magical Journey was founded in 1985 by Carol Cumes as a means of sharing her experiences in the Andes of Peru, and the knowledge, love of nature and practical wisdom that she was learning from the Quechua people living and farming in the mountains and valleys. Since that time, many hundreds of people have attested to how a Magical Journey to Machu Picchu has added to their lives.

Recognizing that there was much for all of us to learn from other people with other world views, Magical Journey expanded its offerings, using a similar approach, to the Himlayan Region of  Nepal, Tibet and Bhutan; the Indian Subcontinent and Southern Africa.

We are proud to be able to say that in all the years of Magical Journey's operations, we have never had a Journey that failed to achieve the objectives set out above.

Carol has gone on to build Willka T’ika Garden Retreat Center in;the Sacred Valley of the Inka, which serves as a base for all our Magical Journeys in Peru, and has authored two books, “Journey to Machu Picchu - Spiritual Wisdom from the Andes of Peru” and the triple award winning “Chakra Gardens - Opening the Senses of the Soul”.
